Chimera Entertainment is a creative and independent game development studio based in the heart of Munich. Since our founding in 2006, gameplay creativity and teamwork have been at the core of everything we do. Our portfolio spans over 25 published titles, including award-winning franchises like Angry Birds Epic and Angry Birds Evolution. We develop both proprietary IPs (including our latest release Songs of Silence) and work-for-hire projects from conception through launch.

With almost 20 years of expertise in PC, mobile and cross-platform game development, we rank among Germany’s leading studios. We’re excited to welcome passionate new talent to our ambitious team of 25 game developers.

As a Game Designer at Chimera you will join a 14-person team working on our upcoming PC project, a unique genre-blending experience that combines roguelike, RPG, puzzle and tower defense elements. The creative direction is set; we’re looking for someone who can turn this vision into meaningful player moments, systems that feel smart, features that reward mastery and a game loop players return to because it stays fun and engaging.

You will champion innovative feature development, drive creative collaboration across the team and ensure that design vision, gameplay mechanics and product quality consistently meet the highest standards.

This is a project-based role (24 months) with real ownership in a highly collaborative environment.

• Conceive and develop new gameplay features, systems and content
• Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation
• Balance and fine-tune complex game mechanics across roguelike, strategy and RPG elements
• Conduct regular design reviews to ensure alignment with project goals and quality standards
• Collaborate across disciplines to optimize implementation
• Analyze player feedback and data to continuously refine the user experience

• At least one shipped PC or Console title with significant design contributions
• Passion for strategy, roguelike, RPG or mechanics-driven games (you play and understand these genres, not just in theory)
• Proven ability to design, balance and iterate complex gameplay systems
• Excellent English-language documentation and communication skills (German is a plus)
• Self-directed, reliable and solution-oriented work approach
• Availability for on-site work in Munich (hybrid model; full remote not possible)

• UI / UX knowledge or passion
• Experience working with publishers / external partners
