This enables customer information to be documented, analysed, and seamlessly integrated into existing systems. As our Backend Engineering Lead, you will head the team responsible for the core backend systems at Voice Line – every integration that powers field sales operations, the data retrieval and data interfaces our products run on, and the control flow that orchestrates our heavy backend operations. You’ll manage a group of Backend Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers, owning both the technical direction and the people behind it.

You won’t just expand existing interfaces and build new ones; you’ll set the architectural standards that keep our backend scalable and maintainable as it grows into a sizeable machine. You’ll be a crucial part of our journey, directly shaping how machine learning in connected systems reshapes the nature of work, starting in field sales.

• Develop and own integrations to and from CRMs, ERPs, Task Management Tools and Hyperscaler Services
• Engage with the tech & product team in topics like architecture, DB design, optimal querying and security
• Enhance and create backend services for our client apps and analytics bench
• Understand the API design of largest SaaS tools out there and abstract them into our own layer
• Work closely with a dynamic team in a VC‑financed, rapidly growing company

• Proven experience leading backend teams, including hands‑on mentoring, code review culture, and setting technical direction
• Strong Golang skills, its our language choice for more than just backend code
• Track record of designing and operating systems at scale: integration platforms, data interfaces, query‑heavy services, or workflow/orchestration layers
• Solid software design background – you don’t need to recite patterns by heart, but you feel inefficiency and know when abstraction is warranted (and when it isn’t)
• Comfortable making architectural calls on REST API design, authentication, network protocols, data modelling, and the control flow of long‑running or compute‑heavy backend operations
• Ability to balance IC work, technical leadership, and stakeholder communication; you can run a roadmap conversation in the morning and unblock a tricky PR in the afternoon
• Experience working alongside Forward Deployed Engineers – or directly with customers – to translate field requirements into durable platform decisions
• Proficiency in German is a plus; primary language at Voice Line is English
