Databricks is hiring an AI Forward Deployed Engineer in Germany to work directly with customers to build, deploy, and product ionize GenAI applications. The role focuses on delivering customer-facing solutions, influencing product and engineering priorities, and advancing LLMOps and large-scale ML production rollouts.

AI Forward Deployed Engineer (AI FDE) — Germany. Deliver customer-facing professional services to design, build, and product ionize GenAI applications. Influence product and engineering priorities through hands‑on engagements and subject‑matter expertise.

• Develop cutting‑edge GenAI solutions using state‑of‑the‑art techniques and Databricks AI research.
• Own production rollouts of consumer‑facing and internal GenAI applications.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers across multiple domains.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, engineering, and developer relations to shape roadmaps and priorities.
• Present work externally at conferences (e.g., Data + AI Summit) and act as a thought leader.

• Experience building GenAI applications and related approaches such as RAG, multi‑agent systems, Text2
  
  SQL, and model fine‑tuning.
• Experience with tools and frameworks including Hugging Face, Lang Chain, and DSPy.
• Extensive hands‑on industry data science experience using common ML/data tools (pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch).
• Experience deploying production‑grade ML/GenAI systems on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong communication skills; experience teaching or explaining technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites approximately every 4–8 weeks as needed.
