Stellenbeschreibung
We are hiring a Robotics Engineer to own our indoor survey robot from end to end (MESA): the sensors, electronics mechanics, and the software stack that maps a room, explores it on its own and produces the data we turn into floor plans. You will divide your time between the software stack and the physical robot. That means bringing up new hardware revisions, fixing problems in the field and making the system dependable enough to use every day.
Key Responsibilities- Bring up, integrate and maintain the robot's hardware
- Extracting, cleaning and integrating peripherals data into our ROS Stack (e.g., writing or adapting drivers)
- Keep the robot description (URDF/Xacro), sensor extrinsics and TF tree accurate on every hardware variant
- Tune and improve the localization and mapping pipeline
- Develop and tune autonomous navigation and exploration
- Write and maintain ROS 2 nodes in C++ and Python
- Maintain the containerized deployment for Jetson devices
- Run tests and survey missions on the real robot, and debug problems across hardware, drivers, timing, TF and software
- Collaborate with the perception and application teams to agree on data outputs, format and quality as well as on the robot-to-app interface
- Conduct meetings and tests with partners to provide feedback on the hardware to be serialized.
- Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with real mobile robots, not only simulation
- Practical experience with LiDAR-based SLAM and localization, and with integrating and tuning existing frameworks (e.g. RTAB-Map, FAST-LIO, Cartographer, SLAM Toolbox)
- Experience with Nav2 or a comparable navigation stack, including configuration and tuning on real hardware
- Good programming skills in C++ and Python, and comfort with Bash and Linux
- Knowledge of point cloud processing
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms (Jet Pack, power modes, performance tuning)
- Experience with Docker for robotics deployment
- Experience with CI/CD and software testing/development best practices
- Hands-on electronics skills: reading datasheets and schematics, wiring and soldering, power systems, and sensor interfaces (Ethernet, USB, UART/serial, CAN)
- Solid understanding of coordinate frames, transforms, time synchronization and sensor calibration
- A systematic approach to debugging when the cause could be in hardware or software
- Experience with Behavior Trees, MPPI or other model-predictive controllers, or frontier-based exploration
- Experience designing PCBs or harnesses, or working with microcontrollers and motor controllers
- Open-source contributions, publications or robotics project demos
- Experience with Gazebo or Isaac Simulator for developing simulated robots and quickly testing robotic stacks
- Experience in fast prototyping through CAD design and 3D printing.
This is an on-site robotics software role focused on autonomy. It’s not primarily a full-stack, computer vision, ML/AI, electronics, or mechanical engineering position.
What We Offer- Work on real autonomous robots
- A collaborative, engineering-driven team with high ownership and real-world impact
- Wellpass (company-subsidized fitness and wellness membership)
