Description:

We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to contribute to our growth ambitions within EMEA. The ideal candidate will have a strong underwriting acumen, robust analytical skills, solid connections with German cedants/brokers, and superior insight into German products, especially Property and Engineering. • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients/brokers
• Conduct rating analyses to quantitatively assess reinsurance risks
• Ensure all risks are bound in compliance with underwriting guidelines and rules
• Make sure all risks are booked effectively in our systems
• Develop portfolio strategies to maximise profitable growth
• Monitor and track exposure accumulations
• Set and execute annual business plan targets
• Manage key/large client accounts proactively
• Support Product Heads and President EMEA as needed
• Mentor and train underwriting staff

• 5+ years in a (Re) insurance underwriting role
• Proven underwriting expertise and acumen
• Superior analytical skills
• Advanced market knowledge (Germany)
• Strong communication and negotiating skills
• Clear thinking and intellectual curiosity
• Fluent in English and German (any other European language is a plus)
• Willing to travel to attend underwriting meetings, audits, conferences as required
