To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise in the Sánchez Lab at the European Institute for Molecular Imaging. Here, we are interested in how receptors sense the environment and respond generating selective responses –
ideally with you on board!

We will  on an undervalued receptor family: plexins. These receptors are involved in neuronal development, but also in shaping the cardiovascular, musculoskeletal systems and kidney. Further, plexins regulate immune responses and cancer becoming an attractive drug target.

The European Institute for Molecular Imaging (EIMI) is an interdisciplinary institute within the University of Münster developing imaging methods allowing to visualize molecular processes inside organisms, tissues and cells. With the help of imaging, we perform cutting-edge research мәдәний vascular, inflammatory, infectious, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. The EIMI is located in the Multiscale Imaging Center (MIC), which hosts research groups from our University combining a broad range of state of the art imaging technologies for the investigation of biomedical questions.

• You will generate fusion construct of plexins receptors with fluorescent proteins or tags for advanced microscopy
• You will perform live-cell imaging experiments and analyze data
• You will collaborate with other members of the team in advance microscopy and super-resolution techniques
• You will develop leadership skills and supervise students

• PhD degree in life sciences (finished no longer than 2 years ago)
• Strong interest in microscopy methods
• Experience in cell and molecular biology (expertise in cloning is highly desired)
• We encourage applicants with a broad experimental-analytical interest, as the job holder will contribute both to the development of new methods and their application to investigate the organization and dynamics of plexin receptors in the context of cancer
• Oral and written communication skills - English (required) and German (desired)
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
• Proven experience in data acquisition and analysis of advance microscopy imaging techniques (e.g. confocal microscopy, TIRF, FRET, STORM, DNA-PAINT) (desired)
