About Helmholtz Munich

At Helmholtz Munich, we develop groundbreaking solutions for a healthier society in a rapidly changing world. We believe that diverse perspectives drive innovation. Through strong partnerships, we accelerate the transfer of new ideas from the lab to real-life applications, improving lives.

Institute of Lung Health and Immunity (LHI)

We explore the molecular & immunological mechanisms underlying chronic lung diseases such as COPD, lung fibrosis, asthma, lung cancer, and the complications following lung transplantation. We want to translate our findings into preventative and therapeutic approaches for patients. At our institute, you will find a scientifically stimulating international and interdisciplinary environment. Together with renowned scientists and supported by an excellent infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to make an important contribution to a healthier society.

  • Conduct and interpret flow cytometry experiments, support panel design, and assist with immunology‑focused assays.
  • Oversee and maintain daily laboratory operations, coordinate project‑related tasks and collaborations.
  • Teach new team members in standard lab techniques.
Qualifications
  • Completed university degree (B.Sc.) in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, molecular bioengineering or related area.
  • Proven expertise in primary cell culture, including patient‑derived material.
  • Practical experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing.
  • Practical experience in flow cytometry and immunology techniques.
  • Strong interest in science, innovation, and independent, solution‑oriented work.
