About the team

The Collaboration Tools team builds and enhances Zillow Group’s internal communication and productivity platforms, enabling seamless collaboration and supporting business agility across the company. As a Client Engineer, you’ll help drive innovation and ensure our teams stay connected and productive.

As a Client Engineer, you will use your technical expertise to support, maintain, and advance our suite of collaboration tools. Your work will directly impact productivity and employee experience across Zillow, empowering teams to work more efficiently and collaboratively.

• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian, etc.).
• Develop and implement automation scripts and workflows to enhance system reliability and user efficiency.
• Manage, configure, and optimize client-side components of collaboration applications.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Proactively monitor system performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and technical excellence.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, proactively recommending and implementing innovations to enhance our collaboration capabilities.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting and engineering collaboration and productivity tools.
• Strong knowledge of Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian, or similar enterprise collaboration platforms.
• Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Power Shell, Python) and automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of AI tools (generative, agentive, etc.) and how they can enable users to get the best out of our platforms.
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a user‑centric mindset.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast‑paced environment.
