As the Founders Associate – AI/ML Consulting Lead, you’ll take a hands-on role in expanding our software engineering and AI/ML services. You’ll lead and grow a skilled team of forward-deployed engineers, and secure and manage major projects for clients across industries like retail, insurance, and energy.

This role includes a clear path to significant equity and future C-level responsibility.

17 GmbH brings together senior software architects and pioneering ML researchers to partner with leading enterprises – Arvato, PwC, and AOK – on their toughest software engineering and AI challenges.

17, we build getML, a problem-agnostic machine learning software for predictive analytics on relational business data. Our patented algorithms automate feature discovery through supervised learning, uncovering prediction-relevant domain logic in unprecedented detail. Position Details:

  • Anticipated Start Date: Q2/2025
  • Location: On-site or remote during the first six months (based in the EU, with Leipzig comfortably reachable by train). Conversion to a permanent, full-time management role requires on-site presence in Leipzig.
Tasks

In this role, you’ll take charge of our core consulting functions. You’ll work closely with Alex, Co-Founder at Code
17 GmbH, who will support you as you step into this leadership position:

  • Lead Client Engagements: Oversee engineering and AI/ML projects from planning through delivery, ensuring measurable business outcomes.
  • Identify & Drive Growth: Pinpoint high-value AI/ML use cases, lead client workshops to solve challenges, and cultivate new business.
  • Develop & Lead Team: Recruit, mentor, and foster the growth of our professional services team.
  • Spearhead Sales & Marketing: Identify recurring industry challenges for AI/ML solutions, manage lead generation and close new projects.
  • Shape Brand & Presence: Guide our market positioning and lead strategic marketing initiatives.
Requirements

At Code

  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams
  • Solid understanding of software development and machine learning concepts

  • Highly self-motivated with strong ownership and collaboration skills
  • Fluency in both German and English
