Our team is dedicated to leveraging the latest HPC technologies and architectures to support our global business and research objectives. As a successful candidate, you will understand HPC concepts and technologies and will have technical skills and experience in supporting HPC Linux solutions. You should have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of five years of experience supporting Linux HPC solutions.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with our HPC internal customers.
- You will configure and maintain Linux HPC solutions head node, high-density compute nodes, job scheduler, virtual machines (VMs) and storage systems.
- You will maintain system software and firmware revisions including patches, updates, and OS upgrades.
- You will analyze, diagnose, and respond to system problems and user questions related to running jobs on the HPC cluster.
- You will manage and maintain job scheduling managers Altair PBS Pro.
- You will manage Altair Access User UI, including developing job templates.
- You will perform analysis tool upgrades and work with users to validate. (StarCCM, LsDyna, Ansys, Abaqus FPGA/ASIC Design tools, etc.)
- You will help develop and implement new technologies based on industry best practices.
- You will work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.
- You will monitor system health and utilization metrics.
- You will foster relationships with your DT peers all over the world that work and want to work at Collins.
- You will learn how to coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and software problems.
- New HPC methods and tools.
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum five years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum three years of experience.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Five years’ experience as an HPC Linux System Administrator.
- Experience supporting mid-large HPC Linux environments.
- Experience with HPC job scheduling tools.
- Understanding of software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware, and system-level troubleshooting to support the engineering community.
- Experience leading HPC projects.
- Experience with Altair PBS Pro Job Schedulers.
- Experience with Altair Access User UI application.
- Experience/knowledge with Cloud HPC.
- Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence experience.
- Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) experience in an HPC Linux environment.
- Virtual workstation experience for Engineering HPC Pre/Post processing activities.
- Proven track record in scripting in bash and Python.
