To strengthen our team at the location in Bremen with flexible working time models and the option of home office we are looking for a Robotic Software Engineer – Maritime Robotics – AUV Trajectory Planning & Inspection (all genders welcome).

• Responsible for trajectory planning of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) used for close‑range inspection of maritime infrastructure.
• Develop robust ROS2 based algorithms and work closely with interdisciplinary teams and research partners to drive innovative solutions in underwater robotics.
• Design and implement algorithms for efficient close‑range inspection of critical underwater infrastructure (e.g. pipelines, offshore structures, energy and communication networks) and validate them for use under real‑world offshore conditions.
• Plan, support and evaluate simulations as well as maritime field trials and analyse relevant sensor and navigation data.
• Use modern software development environments and open‑source frameworks (particularly ROS2) and relevant libraries to implement and evaluate algorithms.
• Work closely with universities and research institutions in the field of maritime robotics and autonomous systems and actively contribute to joint research and development projects.

• Degree in a technical field such as robotics, computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field, ideally with a focus on maritime robotics or AUV‑based inspection.
• Several years of professional experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or maritime robotics.
• In‑depth knowledge of trajectory planning, navigation, and control, and solid programming skills (preferably in C++) with practical experience with ROS2‑based systems.
• Experience with AUVs, sensor fusion, or underwater navigation is a plus.
• Strong ownership mindset and excellent communication skills when working in interdisciplinary teams.
