FPGA Design Engineer; m​/f​/d

To strengthen our team in Lindenberg im Allgäu, we are currently looking for an FPGA Design Engineer (m/f/d).

• Design, implementation, and integration of FPGA solutions for safety‑critical aerospace applications
• Development of RTL modules (VHDL/Verilog), including simulation, synthesis and timing optimization
• Analysis of system requirements and derivation of technical FPGA specifications
• Creation of FPGA architectures, design concepts and hardware‑related functional designs
• Execution of simulations, static timing analysis and debugging on target hardware
• Documentation in accordance with DO‑254 throughout the entire design and implementation process
• Close collaboration with systems engineering, verification, hardware and software teams
• Support integration of FPGA modules into electronic aircraft systems
• Technical communication with internal stakeholders and external partners

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering or a comparable technical qualification
• At least 4 years of professional experience in FPGA design, ideally within the aerospace or avionics domain
• Strong knowledge of VHDL/Verilog and hands‑on experience with FPGA tool chains (Xilinx, Intel, Microchip)
• Practical experience in modeling, simulation and verification of digital circuits (e.g. Model Sim, Questa, Riviera‑PRO)
• Experience with safety‑critical development standards, preferably DO‑254
• Familiarity with requirements engineering tools (e.g. DOORS) is a plus
• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken, are essential for internal and external communication

A permanent employment contract is offered.

The position is compensated within the IG Metall collective agreement framework. The salary development includes several salary adjustments within the first 12 months. The average annual salary during the first year of employment is €77,000. Following the completion of this adjustment phase, the annual salary from the 13th to the 47th month is €100,000.
