Urban Planing Manager

We are seeking an Urban Planning Manager for a permanent position in the Urban Planning Department of the City of Porvoo starting from September 1, 2026, or by agreement. Join a top team to design our unique and multifaceted hometown.

• Lead comprehensive planning in the central, village, and archipelago areas of Porvoo.
• Cooperate regionally with stakeholders and participate in projects such as the Eastern Rail.
• Engage constructively and development-oriented with residents, stakeholders, authorities, and clients.
• Guide and acquire various studies, expert tasks, prepare statements, and participate in other urban development activities such as growth forecasts and land use planning.

• A higher university degree suitable for the role, such as an architect, Master of Science in Engineering, or other relevant higher education.
• Qualification as a planner, extensive experience in project management, and proficiency in Finnish (spoken and written).
• Good command of a second Finnish language and experience in leading planning and planning projects successfully are considered an advantage.
• Proficient digital skills, a systematic and proactive work approach, and strong teamwork skills.
• Good interaction skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external partners.

The office of the Urban Planning Manager is located in the city center of Porvoo, with excellent transportation connections. The role mainly requires physical presence, but occasional remote work is flexibly possible.

The employment terms are governed by the Municipal Technical Staff's collective agreement (TS). The task-specific salary is €5550.85/month. A professional allowance of €444 may also be paid.

The probation period is six months.
