NodeJS Engineer; Middle

About Us:

The Unit is a software development company specializing in the sports betting, gambling, and iGaming industries, with its headquarters in Ireland. Our team is pleased to have been collaborating with customers from around the world since 2017.

We are expanding our team and looking for a Mid-level Node.js Engineer to support the development and maintenance of our backend services.

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js (NestJS preferred)
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs (Graph
  
  QL is a plus)
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Debug and troubleshoot production and development issues
• Contribute to performance and scalability improvements under guidance
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions
• Follow security and data protection best practices

• 2–4 years of experience working with Node.js
• Experience with Type Script and modern Java Script
• Familiarity with NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks
• Understanding of asynchronous programming in Node.js
• Experience working with SQL databases (Postgre
  
  SQL or MySQL)
• Exposure to No
  
  SQL databases (e.g. Mongo
  
  DB) is a plus
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs
• Basic understanding of backend architecture principles
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows
• Exposure to Docker and CI/CD concepts
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher

• Exposure to message queues or caching (e.g. Redis)
• Familiarity with Clean Architecture or DDD concepts
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
