Stellenbeschreibung

About the Role at Rob Co Rob Co  is building the category of Autonomous Industrial Robotics and we're doing it fast. We believe that automating the ordinary frees humans to do the extraordinary, and we're building the end-to-end robotics infrastructure to make that possible - hardware, software, and AI in one stack that just works. As our Safety Programming Engineer (m/f/d), you are the technical cornerstone of our safety controller architecture and functional safety compliance.

If something is broken, you fix it. If something can be automated, you build it. You will take total ownership of our embedded C/C++ safety software stack while ensuring our systems meet the highest international safety standards.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead C/C++ Safety Software Development:
Design, implement, and test high-reliability safety software in C/C++ for our next-generation Intel-based safety controller.
  • Maintain Safety PLC Platforms:
Maintain and update the certified safety application on our PLC platform, managing parameter updates, change management, and variant support.
  • Drive Functional Safety Compliance:
Rigorously apply functional safety processes and coding standards across the entire development lifecycle, adhering to ISO 13849-1, IEC 61508, and MISRA standards.
  • Author Certification Documentation:
Create and maintain key technical artifacts including software safety requirements, system architecture, and verification evidence required for formal certification.
  • Act as Audit Counterpart:
Serve as the primary technical contact for TÜV and other external notified bodies during formal safety assessments.
  • Manage External Partners:
Technical coordination of freelancers, contractors, and development partners working on the safety software stack.
We’re looking for someone who has:
  • Completed vocational training or a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of experience in embedded software development in C and C++
  • Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 13849-1);
Working knowledge of MISRA C/C++ guidelines and static analysis tools.
  • Strong ownership mindset, pragmatic working style, and a structured, documentation-driven approach to engineering.
  • Very good English skills (German is a plus).
Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with Safety PLC programming or safety RTOS/hypervisors
  • Prior hands‑on experience with TÜV certification or other notified body audits.
