Software Engineer (ServiceNow) - RegTech

About the opportunity

We are seeking a Software Engineer to build and evolve reliable governance platforms that help N26 meet regulatory expectations and strengthen operational resilience.

Our System Solutions team enables the organization by operating and developing enterprise governance platforms such as Service Now and related risk tooling. We sit at the intersection of engineering, security, risk, and operations, and believe in building well-engineered, compliant, and scalable systems that support regulatory controls across the bank.

This role is suited for engineers who want to grow their technical depth in a regulated environment, gain hands‑on experience with enterprise governance platforms, and contribute to systems that have a direct impact on N26’s compliance and operational maturity.

• Implement features and workflow enhancements and support the configuration and improvement of Service Now modules (e.g., Risk, CMDB, Asset, Change, Incident).
• Help maintain data consistency across Asset, Process, and Risk domains.
• Develop and maintain API-based integrations between Service Now and other internal systems (IAM, asset sources, security tools).
• Write automation scripts to reduce manual operational tasks.
• Test and validate integrations to ensure reliability and correctness.
• Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident handling.
• Maintain clear documentation of configurations and processes.
• Actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Continuously improve your understanding of governance processes such as Third-Party Risk, BIA, PRA, and Change Management.

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, enterprise SaaS platforms, or large-scale integrations.
• Hands‑on experience with Service Now (IRM, Risk, CMDB, Change, Incident, or similar governance modules).
• Experience working with REST/SOAP APIs and structured data (JSON, XML).
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Ability to write automation or integration code (Python, bash, or similar).
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in regulated, fast-moving environments.
