• Build and improve core HR workflows in Node.js, including rules-heavy domains such as country-specific time-off policies
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for organizations of all sizes
• Improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing features
• Refactor and modernize the platform while ensuring a seamless experience for existing customers
• Occasionally contribute to frontend development in React when it supports the best customer experience
• Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, QA, and designers to solve customer problems and deliver product improvements
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to technical decision-making and architectural discussions
• Help spread knowledge and support teammates through collaboration and mentorship

• Extensive experience designing and building scalable backend applications with Node.js
• Experience with React or interest in contributing across the stack when needed
• Senior-level engineering judgment when refactoring, optimizing, and choosing pragmatic solutions
• Product mindset and ability to work with evolving requirements, balance technical quality with customer impact, and make pragmatic trade-offs
• Curiosity and flexibility when learning new technologies and stepping outside the primary area of expertise
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent English
