Property Facultative Underwriter ​/ Senior Underwriter (d​/f​/m

For the International Facultative unit, we are seeking to appoint a Property Facultative Underwriter / Senior Underwriter (d/f/m) based in our Cologne office starting as soon as possible.

• Assessing and underwriting risks, with a focus on profitability across Property, Energy, and Engineering lines.
• Structuring and pricing non-proportional reinsurance solutions (excess layers), including the analysis and evaluation of natural catastrophe exposures.
• Developing value-adding concepts for facultative program business.
• Managing key accounts: actively developing and nurturing national and international client relationships at both technical and executive levels.
• Monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating primary insurance markets while contributing to strategic portfolio growth initiatives.
• Engaging in technical discussions with clients and presenting at industry events or internal training sessions.
• Participating in cross-branch projects.

• Degree in insurance, engineering, or a related field; alternatively, relevant vocational training with advanced professional qualifications.
• Experience in underwriting or risk engineering preferred.
• A strong inclination for customer- and team-oriented work, and a willingness to travel.
• Entrepreneurial thinking, team spirit, agility, and openness to new ideas.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex issues.
• Fluency in German and/or English with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Confident use of standard MS Office programs, especially Excel.
