About the Role

As a Virtual Grant Funding Specialist, you will be critical in identifying, securing, and managing grant funding opportunities to support various programs and initiatives. This remote position requires a highly motivated individual with a substantial grant writing, research, and compliance background. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure that funding needs are met and that grant proposals align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities Grant Research and Identification
  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from federal, state, and private sources.
  • Evaluate grant prospects to determine alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of grant funding trends and requirements in relevant sectors.
Proposal Development
  • Collaborate with program staff and stakeholders to gather necessary information for grant proposals.
  • Write compelling grant proposals articulating the organization's mission, goals, and funding needs.
  • Develop budgets and supporting documentation in compliance with grant guidelines and requirements.
  • Tailor proposals to meet the specific criteria of each funding opportunity.
Grant Management and Compliance
  • Oversee the administration of awarded grants, ensuring adherence to funding agreements and compliance with all regulations.
  • Monitor grant performance and manage reporting requirements, including progress reports and financial statements.
  • Address any issues or discrepancies related to grant funding, providing solutions and making necessary adjustments.
Relationship Building
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with funding agencies, donors, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries and communications.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other networking opportunities.
Documentation and Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate records of all grant-related activities, including proposal submissions, funding agreements, and correspondence.
  • Ensure that all documentation is organized and accessible for audits and reviews.
Training and Support
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on grant-related processes and best practices.
  • Assist with developing and implementing strategies to enhance grant-seeking efforts and improve proposal quality.
Strategic Planning
  • Contribute to the development of the organization’s overall funding strategy and objectives.
  • Analyze funding trends and data to inform strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing, grant management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful grant proposal submissions and award acquisitions.
  • Strong understanding of grant regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grant management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
