Overview
Two Full Professorships (W
3) for Artificial Intelligence at Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI) in collaboration with the University of Potsdam. The positions are part of the Jülich Model and aim to strengthen the Data & AI research cluster and collaboration across HPI research clusters including Digital Health, Cybersecurity, and Systems.
- Conduct outstanding research in artificial intelligence with an international publication record.
- Provide teaching in artificial intelligence at undergraduate and graduate levels, in practice or theory.
- Advise and supervise bachelor, master, and Ph.D. students.
- Acquire external funding through public or industry grants.
- Internationally recognized for technical contributions in AI with an excellent research and teaching profile.
- Ability to contribute to AI foundations or methods and/or applications across other HPI research clusters (e.g., Digital Health, Cybersecurity, Systems).
- Open to subfields of AI, including Foundations (Machine Learning, Statistical AI, Optimization, Data Science, Data Analysis, Responsible AI), Methodologies (Foundation Models, Data Engineering, MLOps, Hybrid AI, AutoML, Benchmarks, ML for Systems, Systems for ML), and Modalities (NLP, Computer Vision, Speech & Audio, Structured Data).
We offer scientists opportunities to develop skills in research and teaching, international collaboration with leading institutions, a team-oriented and inclusive environment, and the option to teach courses in German or English. The campus is located in Potsdam adjacent to Berlin. Startup support includes design thinking and an entrepreneurship program.
