At the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Institute of Physics, Group high energy density physics, subject to allocation of funds, we are filling the following position at the earliest possible date on a temporary basis for the duration of the project "IFUEL" ending on 31.12.2028.

Remuneration: pay group 13 TV‑L.

• research in the fields of inertial fusion and high‑energy density physics within the BMFTR project IFUEL under the Fusion 2040 funding program
• simulate the interaction of laser‑generated plasmas with potential wall materials for fusion reactors
• theoretical support of experiments on corresponding high‑energy laser systems at the University of Rostock, the Deutsches Elektronen‑Synchrotron (DESY), and the Helmholtz‑Zentrum Dresden–Rossendorf
• co‑supervise students within the project IFUEL
• publish scientific results

• completed scientific university degree (state examination, diploma, master's or comparable degree) in physics with preferably good results
• doctorate in physics or comparable subject area
• very good knowledge in the field of plasma physics
• experience with molecular dynamics simulations
• experience with radiation‑hydrodynamics simulations is desirable
• good programming skills
• confident knowledge of written and spoken English
• communication and teamwork skills for working in international research collaborations
