Communication Protocols Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• You design communication protocols for ISO/OSI layers 2 and 3 for modern secure communications systems
• You implement, integrate, and test the developed protocols in real system environments
• You work in specialist and cross-functional teams on the product development of modern communication methods and contribute your expertise to international cooperation and consortium projects
• You consistently apply software engineering methods and modern development approaches such as agile processes and continuous integration
• You analyze complex requirements and evaluate technical solution concepts for security-critical communication systems
• You drive the further development of protocol architectures for encrypted data transmission

• You have a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification
• You have experience in protocol software development, ideally in ISO/OSI layers 2 and 3
• You are proficient in C++ and Python, or a comparable language
• You are familiar with modern software engineering tools for implementation, integration, and testing
• You demonstrate a structured approach to work, strong problem-solving skills, and critical thinking. Team spirit, strong communication skills, and a high willingness to learn come naturally to you
• Good German and English skills, both written and spoken, complete your profile.
