PMCSenior Forward Deployed Engineer; Onsite; Stuttgart, Germany

Our recruitment firm is partnering with a fast-growing AI and machine learning company supporting mission‑critical national security environments. We are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to help deliver trusted AI capabilities directly into secure customer settings in Germany, with a focus on Stuttgart. This is a high‑impact, hands‑on engineering role for someone who wants to be close to the mission, close to the user, and deeply involved in deploying real technical solutions, not simply advising from the sidelines.

You will work at the intersection of backend engineering, Dev Ops, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, secure deployments, and applied AI/NLP systems.

• Serve as the technical representative in a secure customer environment, with meaningful on‑site presence expected several days per week.
• Deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and support software systems in restricted or government-hosted infrastructure.
• Write scripts, automate deployments, integrate with customer systems, and resolve technical issues across backend services, containers, data pipelines, and cloud environments.
• Partner closely with product, engineering, Dev Ops, operators, analysts, and security stakeholders to turn customer needs into practical engineering outcomes.
• Help shape long‑term deployment success by bringing field feedback back to internal technical teams.

• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Approximately five to seven years of relevant hands‑on engineering experience.
• Strong Python, backend development, scripting, automation, or data pipeline experience.
• Linux proficiency and comfort operating from the shell in production-like or secure environments.
• Hands‑on Docker and Kubernetes experience, including deploying containers and configuring services.
• Cloud experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure; secure or government cloud exposure is a plus.
• Strong Dev Ops fundamentals, including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment tooling.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and mission‑focused stakeholders while remaining deeply hands‑on.

• Experience with NLP, semantic search, embeddings, model tuning, or applied language model workflows.
• Experience deploying or integrating machine learning systems on customer data.
• ETL, large‑scale data movement, identity management, authentication, authorization, or full‑stack development experience.
• Prior work with defense, intelligence, national security, air‑gapped, hardened, or high‑compliance environments.
