Overview
The Zoological Collection of the Museum der Universität Tübingen (MUT) hosts an extensive collection of vertebrates and invertebrates for use in research and teaching, with a major focus on insects and birds. We are seeking a Collection Scientist and Curator (m/f/d) A13/14 100% starting ideally on 01 May 2026 (full time / part time options available).

- Take responsibility for and provide oversight over the permanent scientific and teaching collections.
- Apply modern and innovative approaches to unlock scientific information from museum specimens, e.g. through imaging and/or molecular analyses.
- Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in vertebrate and invertebrate anatomy, morphology, evolution and species identification, with a regular teaching load of 9 SWS (9 contact hours per week).
- Conduct teaching that includes excursions or field courses for undergraduate and graduate students.
- PhD or equivalent degree, postdoctoral qualifications and teaching experience.
- Experience in working with museum collections and corresponding databases.
- Documented track record in acquiring external research funding and in collaborative research.
The proposed research program should complement the overall research portfolio of the Institute for Evolution and Ecology ( ), which hosts the Zoological Collection.
