Reach Cambridge provides a unique 2 or 4-week Journalism & Media residential summer course for international high school and UK secondary school students, ages 14-18. Located in England just 50 miles north of London, students stay in one of Cambridge University’s colleges or in our central Cambridge headquarters, ‘Reach Hall’. Journalism & Media Summer Course for British & International Students:
• For UK & international high school students ages 14-18
• Summer course = 2 or 4 weeks in July / August

This short summer course is designed for students who want to learn and think critically about the nature and values of journalism while simultaneously getting invaluable hands-on practice in a vibrant media environment. 

The average class ratio is 12 students to 1 teacher, which ensures that all students are able to interact with the teachers as the lessons progress. Develop your skills as a journalist and learn more about the modern media.

Students are introduced to practical skills of writing and editing, as well as enjoying an exciting series of workshops on topics such as photojournalism and video broadcasting.

Course Content:
• An exciting series of workshops on topics such as video broadcasting and photojournalism.
• How 24-hour news and social media have changed journalistic practice
• Key issues in contemporary journalism: ethics in journalism, sources and veracity, online reporting. 
• Practical skills of writing and editing
• The developing role of the media in modern society
