ISSOS, Summer School 2026 at St Andrews & Cambridge Universities:
Is your teenager interested in film making? The summer film making course offered by ISSOS allows our students to discover the fascinating world of film-making and let their imaginations run free! ISSOS provides all-inclusive three-week summer school programs during the months of July and August in the famous university town of St. Andrews on the beautiful east coast of Scotland. Designed to offer a balanced summer experience of academics, fun and culture, our residential summer camps are available to international students aged between 13-18 years of age. We also offer summer school programs in Cambridge in the South of England.

Film Making Elective Course (Available in St. Andrews Only)
During their 3-week stay, students choose one academic subject and one elective subject to study. Film making is offered as an elective subject at St. Andrews.

The academic subjects that can be taken alongside this course are: English Language Course, International Baccalaureate (IB) Preparation Programs, Creative Writing, Debating, or Youth Leadership.

Whether the student is a complete beginner or already has some film making experience, he or she will benefit from expert tuition and guidance on directing, script writing, cinematography, production management, and editing right through to set design and location scouting.

In addition, each student will receive professional instruction in the use of top of the line Sony HD digital cameras and learn to edit with Final Cut Pro 5.

Armed with this knowledge, students will then work in small teams within a production crew taking turns to direct, produce and film their own unique films. These short films will be screened in front of the entire summer school.

Students taking our Film elective will have the exclusive opportunity to visit The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and to take part in a workshop.
