Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI):
Established in 2002, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an industry-leading therapeutic boarding school in Montana for troubled teen boys and girls ages 13-18. We combine the benefits of an accredited therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC) on our beautiful and safe 150 acre campus. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

At TWAI, we provide a first-class academic experience with our highly trained instructors. We offer standardized, grade-appropriate curriculum at middle and high school levels developed and taught by Montana certified teachers.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. We also provide a GED program, and college courses.

We take a blended approach to teaching with teacher directed break-out classes as well as independent studies using the curriculum by A+. We offer a multitude of classes through A+ which includes general classes as well as AP classes.

Most of our students are able to complete 1.5 - 2 years of high school in a matter of 12 months.  However, this is ultimately up to each student and their ability to drive their own academic progress.
