IB / International Boarding School in Spain

International School of Barcelona:
Situated in Sitges, only 30 minutes south of Barcelona, International School of Barcelona (ISB) is a leading international school providing day and boarding programs for local and international students at primary school and secondary school levels (for ages 5-18). The language of instruction is English. ISB offers quality education based on the British international programme, as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma for senior students (ages 16-18).

Our modern building with spacious classrooms is complemented by a large patio and playing areas. Our campus has a sports centre, playing fields, and a swimming pool, all of which can be used after school hours and at the weekend.

- Transport Provided
To ensure the safe movement of our students, ISB provides transport to and from regional airports at the beginning and end of each term. 

- Induction Programme
We provide an induction programme for our students when they begin their study. This aims to make them feel comfortable in their new surroundings and build up early friendships. In addition, we offer guidance on subject choices and learning styles in the classroom.

Based on the British international curriculum + International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

- Primary School (5 to 11 years)

- International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme (16 to 18 years)

We prepare students for the following exams:
- Cambridge Exams (IGCSE)
- Cambridge A Levels*
- The International Baccalaureate (IB)* 
- Spanish Secondary Exams (ESO)
- Spanish Baccalaureate*

*These qualifications allow students to enroll in any university in the world.

Boarding Options:
Our boarding students can choose from a variety of boarding options:

- Full-time boarding: 7 days per week
- Weekly boarding: Monday to Friday
- Residing in a Family Home

We provide specific tutoring to assist in the integration of our international students into the school and Spanish customs.

Our student residence is located close to our school. Dating from 1913, our residence is a “Modernismo” or “Art Nouveau” country mansion in the natural park of Garraf. The estate forms part of the Garraf Community and we celebrate local events.

Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards in a quiet environment, the residence has been fully renovated. It is designed to develop an optimum environment for our students’ development, give them a sense of community, where they can learn respect for others.

Additional activities designed for our boarding students will help them to develop strong relationships with day students and teachers, and to achieve the best of their potential.

Facilities include:
- Private rooms with bathroom for 2 or 4 students
- Meals provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- Study rooms
- Games room
- Private swimming pool
- 10 hectares of gardens and vineyards
- Health services (nurse service)
- A variety of games equipment
- Weekly cleaning service

The house has Wifi facilities and senior students are allowed laptops or PCs in their bedroms. There are also communal computing facilities in a dedicated area.

ISB is located in a quiet residential zone overlooking Sitges, a picturesque coastal town of Sitges in the heart of the Garraf region, only 25 minutes from the vibrant city of Barcelona.

Easily accessible by public transport, Sitges offers all of the advantages of a major city, but with none of the inconveniences of urban life. Sitges has a great beach, and a wonderful variety of restaurants, shops and cinemas. 

Our student residence is 5 minutes from Sitges and borders Garraf Natural Park, making it the ideal spot to enjoy a healthy environment. The residence nestles in 10 hectares of vines, flower gardens, olive trees, and has a private pool.
