• Lower School:
Getting started with a positive attitude about the whole learning experience is vital.
Since many of our students are just beginning their formal education, we have focused on creating an environment which achieves this in two key ways - the care of our faculty for each student and a highly effective basics program integrated into a rich curriculum.
Our students receive plenty of personal attention while our curriculum opens a wide world for them to explore. Each day is an adventure.
The Lower School covers Beginner 1 through Form 2 (or kindergarten through third grade). Entry into the Lower School is available from the age of four (assuming the student will turn five during the school year).
• Elementary School:
During their Elementary School years, students develop educational skills and habits that will stay with them for life.
It is also during this early period that their educational foundations in reading, writing and mathematics are made firm.
The Elementary School is generally entered at about eight years of age and is completed by about eleven or twelve years of age.
This includes Forms 3 and 4, covering the equivalent of fourth through sixth grades.
• Middle School:
The Middle School years form the critical transition period from a student competent in the basics of reading, writing and mathematics to one who has not only fully mastered them, but is launching into more serious academic study.
For Middle School students, our concentration is on maintaining the standard of those basic tools learned earlier, becoming focused and independent as a student, getting an increased conceptual understanding of how academic subjects integrate and relate to real life, and raising the student's willingness and ability to draw conclusions and make judgments.
Students generally enter the Middle School at the age of eleven and graduate into the Upper School by about fifteen years of age.
The Middle School encompasses Forms 5 and 6, equivalent to grades 7, 8 and 9.
• High School:
In addition to rounding out academic studies in literature, mathematics, writing, science, history, and government, Upper School students gain practical understanding and experience in the subjects of leadership, integrity and logic, as well as management and organizational skills.
They also become a vital element in the functioning of the school, taking on tasks of increased responsibility, requiring higher and higher levels of competence.
In Form 7 (10-11th grade), students select one of four majors––Science and Technology, Humanities, Business, or Fine Arts––and then focus on academic study and practical experience in that area in addition to the standard program.
Our students learn to function in a professional manner, experience the value of living responsibly, and gain the academic knowledge and practical skills needed to confidently and competently take the next step in life.
Whether that step is into further formal education or directly into the professional world, a Delphi graduate walks forward into life with a great deal of certainty and ability.
