Our Mission:

Photo of K-12 Private School in Los Angeles CA areaTo give young people a rich academic background, a strong sense of ethics and a broad range of abilities to successfully launch then into higher education, a career and life itself. More broadly, help build a better world through effective education.

Academic Programs for K-12 Students:
• Preschool
• Lower School
• Elementary School
• Middle School
• Upper School
• Summer Programs
• English Immersion Program for International Students (Academic Year)
• English Immersion Camps (Spring, Summer & Winter - 4 weeks to 3 months)

The Delphi program includes a fully rounded curriculum available for all age levels. A rigorous mastery of the basics forms the core of the curriculum, with the complete program developing a wide spectrum of skills and knowledge in cultural, scientific and social subjects.

Even the very youngest students are exposed to basic concepts of science, history, and the various humanities. In addition to traditional academic subjects, students get training in practical areas such as communication, manners, computers, nutrition and organization.

We emphasize:
• Early education in the basics
• Hands-on learning, practical application
• Ensuring 100% understanding
• Knowing how to study, the barriers to study and how to overcome them
• Personal attention
• Independent learning
• Advancement based on demonstrated competency versus age or grade
• Unique, broad-based, rich curriculum

At Delphi - a Different Approach:

Image of K-12 Private School in Los Angeles CA areaWe emphasize the practical use of an education and focus on getting our students involved in their subjects.

Demonstrated competence in subjects studied is spotlighted rather than time spent in class or "facts" accumulated. For this reason, a somber classroom filled with textbooks, lectures, and chalkboards is not something you'll see at Delphi.

Delphi's goal is to have students really "own" their education, which means taking a very active and personal role in it.

This approach depends on an important ingredient—we make sure our students learn how to study. They advance to higher classes based on demonstrated competence and not age or grade, and in the process they gradually become independent, life-long learners.

Delphi Students have Individualized Programs:

Photos of Delphi Academy of Los AngelesBecause students don't all start at Delphi on the same footing, each arriving student is given diagnostic testing and interviews. From that information a program is designed based on that student’s interests, strengths and weaknesses.

Some students arrive at the school with one or more "holes" in their existing educations and part of the initial task is to identify and repair these holes before they become any more of a problem. The student can then embark on a full academic program without those past problems holding him or her back.

Study Technology - A Learning & Teaching Method:
American writer and educator L. Ron Hubbard developed a simple and precise set of tools he called Study Technology. These were designed to overcome the barriers that may prevent a student from understanding, and ensure that each student could truly put his or her education to use.

At Delphi Academy, we incorporate the basic concepts of Study Technology throughout the Delphi curriculum, in the role of the teacher, the arrangement of the classroom, and the attention given to students. This helps every Delphi student to become an enthusiastic and confident independent learner.

Parent Testimonials:

He’s proud of his school and when I asked him what about it makes him happiest, he said ‘I like all of it, mom! There isn’t one thing I like best. It ALL makes me happy!’ How great is that?"
- Lower School Parent

"I am so grateful that a school like Delphi exists. The academic program is challenging and it makes the study of vital subjects (like reading and math) absolutely fun and rewarding.”
- Elementary School Parent

"Study Technology is setting up my son to become a success at whatever profession he ultimately decides to pursue. More importantly, he’s learning how to apply what he learns to life, instead of simply for an exam.”
