The Embassy in Brussels operates an appointment system for passport applications and notarial services. Appointments are available from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:30hrs. They can be arranged in advance by phoning the Embassy on +32 (2) 286 0500 or by email austemb.brussels@dfat.gov.au.

  • Police clearance;
  • Taxation issues;
  • Notarial services;
  • Passports.

If you are outside Australia and your passport is lost or stolen you must immediately either report your passport lost or stolen online or report the loss to the nearest Australian diplomatic or consular mission.

What is needed when replacing a passport?

  • complete an overseas passport application form,
  • provide details of the lost/stolen passport,
  • attend an interview,
  • pay the current application fee,
  • pay the appropriate lost/stolen passport fee

The Australian Embassy in Brussels, Belgium does not process visa or citizenship applications. For clients resident in Belgium or Luxembourg visa processing is undertaken electronically through the online ‘eVisa’ service, or by processing centres in Australia, or by the immigration office at the Australian Embassy in Madrid, Spain.

Citizens of Belgium are eligible for an eVisitor visa. An eVisitor is an electronically stored authority for travel to Australia. eVisitor can be accessed by airlines, travel agents and Australian border agencies. eVisitor lets visitors enter Australia for up to 3 months during each visit during the 12 months from the date the eVisitor is granted. Applicants may be eligible for an eVisitor if they:

  • intend to visit Australia only temporarily and for tourism or business visitor purposes
  • are outside Australia
  • hold an eVisitor-eligible passport
  • are free of tuberculosis when they enter Australia
  • have not been convicted of an offence or offences for which the total sentence is more than 12 months (whether or not the sentence has been served)

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
