Australian Consulates attend consular matters only. All visa, immigration and citizenship enquiries should be directed to the Visa Section at the Australian Embassy in Brasilia.

In case of lost or stolen Australian passport, it should be reported online or to the Embassy.
Visa Section clients, including visa agents and despachantes, are encouraged to use online lodgement facilities.
Clients without a prior appointment will not be permitted access to the Australian Embassy Visa Section.
A visa application drop box is available at the Embassy guard house for clients wishing to submit paper visa or citizenship applications or additional documentation.
Inquiries can be made in Portuguese, English, Spanish or French.
Brazilian citizens, who want to visit Australia for tourism purposes, need to apply for a visitor visa (subclass 600) and provide the following documents:
- A completed application form.
- If someone gives the applicant advice or lodges his/her application for him/her: form 956 advice by a migration agent/exempt person of providing immigration assistance (the agent or exempt person completes the form and the applicant must sign it).
- If the applicant would like someone else to receive correspondence from the Visa section on the applicant's behalf: form 956a appointment or withdrawal of an authorised recipient.
- Paid visa application charge.
- Certified copies of the biographical pages of the current passports or travel documents of all people included in the application.
- One recent passport sized photograph (45 mm x 35 mm) of each person included in the application.
- If the applicant's name has changed or the name of anyone included in the application has changed: a certified copy of evidence of the name change.
- Certified copies of birth certificates for the applicant and any other person included in the application.
- If served in the armed forces of any country: certified copies of military service record or discharge papers.
- Evidence of sufficient funds.
- If visiting relatives or friends: a letter of invitation from the applicant's relative or friend in Australia. If the applicant's relative or friend is paying for the applicant's visit, evidence that they have the necessary funds.
- Other information to show that the applicant has an incentive and authority to return to his/her home country.
- If under 18 years of age: evidence that every person with a legal right to decide where the applicant lives consents to his/her travel to Australia.
- If under 18 years of age and planning to stay in Australia with someone other than a parent, legal guardian or relative: a declaration signed by the person who will be responsible for the applicant in Australia.
The Embassy and the Consulates are closed on Public holidays.
