The Embassy provides these consular services:

  • Issues passports;
  • Issues birth, marriage, death certificates;
  • Provides notarial services (authentications, certificates of no impediment to marriage, certifying copies of original documents, witnessing signatures on certain documents, affidavits, oaths and affirmations, binding documents presented for authentication);
  • Deals with international child support issues when a parent resides outside Australia.

The Australian Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands does not process visa or citizenship applications. For clients resident in Netherlands visa processing is undertaken electronically through the online ‘eVisa' service, or by processing centres in Australia, or by the immigration office at the Australian Embassy in Berlin, Germany.

The immigration office in Berlin processes the following visas for clients resident in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.

Under the Passports Act 2005 if an Australian citizen has lost or had his/her passport stolen and is applying to replace the stolen or lost document, he/she will be fined a lost/stolen fee which will be charged in addition to the passport lodgement fee.

Fees are payable by cash or EFTPOS ("PIN") only on lodgement of Australian citizen's complete passport application at the Embassy. The Embassy does not have the facility to accept payment by credit cards. Fees are payable in EUROs only.
