Australian Embassy in Saudi Arabia provides the following services:
- Issues passports;
- Registers Australian overseas;
- Deals with taxation issues;
- Issues birth, marriage and death certificates;

- Registers children as Australian citizens;
- Allows Australian citizens abroad to participate in electoral events.
Australian citizens must report the loss or theft of their passport online or at the nearest Australian diplomatic or consular mission as soon as possible.
Saudi Arabian citizens are required to obtain visas to visit Australia. Documents needed to support the application for a visitor visa:
- A completed application form.
- Visa application charge.
- Certified copies of the biographical pages of the current passports or travel documents of all people included in the application (these are the pages with the holder's photo and personal details and the issue/expiry dates).
- One recent passport sized photograph (45 mm x 35 mm) of each person included in the application.
- If applicant's name has changed or the name of anyone included in the application has changed: a certified copy of evidence of the name change.
- Certified copies of birth certificates for the applicant and any other person included in the application. The certificates must show the names of both parents of each person.
- If anyone included in the application has served in the armed forces of any country: certified copies of their military service record or discharge papers.
- Evidence of sufficient funds, such as personal bank statements, pay slips, audited accounts, taxation records or credit card limit.
- If an applicant is visiting relatives or friends, a letter of invitation from a relative or friend in Australia. If that relative or friend is paying for applicant's visit, evidence that they have the necessary funds.
- If an applicant is visiting under the Tourist stream: itinerary for applicant's stay in Australia.
- Other information to show that the applicant has an incentive and authority to return to his/her home country.
Applicants will usually be required to pay the equivalent amount in local currency at the prevailing exchange rate. All passport fees are payable in Saudi Riyals at the nominated exchange rate which changes monthly. The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
