The Australia-Spain relationship is close and multi-faceted. The two governments consult and collaborate on a broad range of bilateral and international issues. Shared democratic values and commitment to global peace and security are the basis for this collaboration. A key element of the bilateral relationship is defence and defence materiel. Spanish companies have won significant defence construction contracts and cooperation between the Royal Australian Navy and the Armada has grown especially close.

Australians are required by law to report the loss or theft of their passports abroad at the nearest Australian diplomatic or consular mission or online. Applicant will need to pay a lost or stolen passport fee additional to the normal application fee. The amount of this additional fee will depend on the number of passports he/she has lost or had stolen in the previous five years.
All travellers, except New Zealand citizens, must obtain a visa or electronic travel authority before travelling to Australia. Spanish citizens can apply for an eVisitor visa to enter Australia for stays of up to 3 months at a time within a 12-month period. An eVisitor is an electronically stored authority for travel to Australia. eVisitor can be accessed by airlines, travel agents and Australian border agencies.
Requirements:
- Filled in online application form.
- Have no criminal convictions (in any country) for which the sentence or sentences (whether served or not) total 12 months or more.
- Meet certain health requirements.
- Have health insurance.
- Have no outstanding debts to the Australian Government or have arranged to repay any outstanding debts to the Australian Government before visa can be granted.
- Applicant might be asked to provide biometrics (a scientific form of identification) as part of the application.
- A valid passport or other acceptable travel document.
- A completed and signed Incoming Passenger Card, including health and character declaration.
The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
