The Australian Ambassador to Sweden, based in Stockholm, is also accredited to Finland, Latvia and Estonia.

Appointments for passport and notarial services are generally scheduled from 09:30-12:00.  All visits to the Embassy are by appointment only.

The Australian Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, does not process visa or citizenship applications. For clients resident in Estonia, Finland, Latvia or Sweden visa processing is undertaken electronically through the immigration office at the Australian Embassy in Berlin, Germany.

• Emergency assistance to Australian citizens;
• Authentications and apostilles;
• Information on benefits, payments and services;

If Australian passport has been lost or stolen, it is required by law to report the loss or theft. This should be done as soon as practicable to the nearest Australian Embassy or Consulate or via Embassy's on-line service. Please note that passports reported as lost or stolen will be immediately and permanently cancelled. A cancelled passport must not be used for travel.

Swedish citizens need a visa to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes. They can apply for an eVisitor visa for stays up to 3 months at a time within a 12-month period. An eVisitor is an electronically stored authority for travel to Australia. eVisitor can be accessed by airlines, travel agents and Australian border agencies.

Visa requirements:

• Filled in online application form.
• Have no criminal convictions (in any country) for which the sentence or sentences (whether served or not) total 12 months or more.
• Meet certain health requirements.
• Have health insurance.
• Have no outstanding debts to the Australian Government or have arranged to repay any outstanding debts to the Australian Government before visa can be granted.
• Applicant might be asked to provide biometrics (a scientific form of identification) as part of the application.
• A valid passport or other acceptable travel document.
• A completed and signed Incoming Passenger Card, including health and character declaration.

For appointments at the Australian Embassy in Stockholm, please be prepared to pay in cash. Embassy does not accept credit card payments.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
