The Australian Embassy in Ankara is accredited to Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Australia and Turkey have a productive and steadily developing relationship, with substantial dialogue across a wide range of issues, frequent high-level visits and expanding bilateral trade and investment.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

• Passport services;
• Notarial and legal services;
• Emergency assistance to Australian citizens;
• Authentications and apostilles;
• Information on benefits, payments and services;
• Elections.

Consular and Passports clients are advised to book an appointment before coming to the Embassy. Appointments can be made by calling the embassy switchboard on +90 312 459 9500. Due to current security arrangements, clients may find it difficult to enter the Embassy without an appointment.

If Australians are outside Australia and their passport is lost or stolen they must immediately either report their passport lost or stolen online or report the loss to the nearest Australian diplomatic or consular mission. This should be done as soon as practicable. They will be required to confirm their identity, and then asked about the circumstances of the loss.

The Tourist and Business Visitor streams of the Visitor visa (subclass 600) are processed at the Australian Embassy in Ankara for people residing in Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Tourist visa requirements:

• Completed Application Form 1419 signed by the applicant.
• Invitation letter (from relatives/friends in Australia the applicant is visiting).
• Evidence of sponsor's Australian passport or permanent residency.
• 1 recent passport sized photograph, for each person included in the application.
• Copy of a valid passport, required for each person included in the application (should be valid for at least the period of the stay in Australia). If the applicant has travelled to other countries please provide photocopies of visa labels, entry and exit pages.
• Original or certified copy of a Turkish family status certificate or equivalent showing the applicant's parents, all siblings, all spouse(s) and all children, together with explanations part.
• Evidence of employment.
• Evidence of funds.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
