Bilateral Egyptian/Brazilian relations are excellent and both countries coordinate closely on many important global issues such as disarmament, non proliferation, achieving the millennium development goals, international trade, environment and climate change, as well as many political issues of mutual interest.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

• Registers Egyptian citizens abroad;
• Issues passports;
• Issues birth certificates;
• Renews work permits;
• Deals with nationality affairs;
• Issues civil status certificates;
• Issues visas;
• Issues Palestinian travel documents.

In case Egyptian passport is lost or stolen, it should be immediately reported to the local police. A police certificate is required when applying for a new passport at the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate.

Citizens of Brazil need visas to visit Egypt. Documents required for a visa:

• A passport valid for at least 6 months;
• 2 personal photos with a white background;
• Filled in visa application;
• Paid fees;
• A photocopy of the residence card in the foreign country.
