Estonia and Portugal have good relations. During the past few years the number of high-level visits and cultural links between Estonia and Portugal has increased.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Assistance to Estonian nationals in cases of emergency;
  • Issuance of Estonian passports and ID cards;
  • Registration of Estonian nationals abroad.

The Embassy does not accept visa applications. To apply for a visa in the Schengen area please contact one of the following embassies: Estonian Embassy in Latvia, Estonian Embassy in Finland, Estonian Embassy in Sweden or Estonian Embassy in France.

Nationals of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and any third-country national holding a residence permit of a Schengen State do not need a visa to enter Estonia. This means that nationals of Portugal do not need a visa to visit Estonia.

Although travel documents are not checked at internal Schengen borders, it is still necessary to carry a travel document (a passport or an ID card) when crossing internal Schengen borders. Competent authorities like police or immigration officials of relevant Schengen State have the right to check travel documents if needed.
