The Consular duties of this Mission involve the protection of the basic internationally recognizable rights of Fiji nationals residing in or visiting the UK, within the constraints of international agreements and law. To achieve this, the Mission assists and provides advises in the following areas:

• Renewal of Fiji passports;
• Registering births and deaths of Fiji citizens in the UK;
• Offering advice and assistance to Fiji nationals who get arrested or become the victim of a crime;
• Offering advice and assistance to Fiji nationals who fall ill or to the families of Fiji citizens that die in the UK;
• Providing Travel Advice for those planning journeys in the region and beyond;

Holders of UK passports do not require a visa for Fiji.

Applications for Passport renewals and replacements can now be lodged with the Fiji High Commission, London. The processing time is 3 weeks to allow for postage and return by courier from Fiji. In this respect, Fiji passport holders are now required to send their completed applications directly to Fiji Embassy in London.

Applicants are to ensure that all relevant sections on their respective application forms are filled in correctly and that their left thumb print and specimen signature are set out properly in the accorded spaces. It is imperative that a person of good standing in the applicant's community, preferably a Notary Public, witnesses the application and the three (3) required photographs for a normal application or six (6) for lost passports, which should be recent.

For those Fiji nationals applying for replacement passports they are to submit a police report and a local newspaper advertisement notifying the loss of their passport together with their respective application forms.

Certificates of Identity (CI) are issued by this Mission to Fiji citizens living or travelling within Europe or the Middle-East whose passports have expired or are lost and need to travel to Fiji urgently. In this respect, Fiji citizens are advised to always keep their passports valid and to renew their passport six months before they expire.
