Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Assists Norwegian citizens abroad;
  • Issues emergency travel documents;
  • Issues passports; 
  • Deals with marriages of Norwegians in South Korea.

In case Norwegian passport is lost or stolen abroad, it should be immediately reported to the local police and the Norwegian Embassy should be contacted to apply for a new passport.

The Norwegian Embassy in Seoul has outsourced the receipt of applications for residence permits to Norway to VFS Global. This means, as of 15 April 2015, all residence applications (work, study and family reunifications) are to be submitted to Norway Visa Application Centre: 5 Floor, Danam Building, Sowol Ro 10, Jung Gu, Seoul (100 704) . The Embassy also represents Denmark thus residence permit applications of Denmark are to be submitted to the Centre. VFS will charge KRW 37,000 processing fee in addition to the visa application fee.

Norwegian Foreign Service Missions shall collect a fee for consular services. The fees for applications for residence permits in Norway are paid on the Application Portal, online. The fees for applications for residence permits in Denmark are paid in cash at the VFS Centre. VFS will charge a processing fee in addition to the visa application fee.

Some people do not need a visa to visit Norway because they hold a passport from a country that Norway has a visa exemption agreement with. Citizens of the Republic of Korea do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days.
