  • Assistance to Norwegian citizens in case of emergencies.

In case Norwegian passport is lost or stolen abroad, it should be immediately reported to the local police and the Norwegian Embassy should be contacted to apply for a new passport.

Citizens of Thailand require a visa to visit Norway for tourism purposes.

Requirements for a visa:

  • Must pay an application fee.
  • Must hand in all the documents on the embassy's checklist.
  • Must have a passport that is valid for at least three months after the end of your visit. The passport must be issued within the last ten years.
  • Must have valid travel insurance.
  • Must have enough money to finance the stay in Norway and the return journey. Must normally have NOK 500 for each day of the stay in Norway. Alternatively, someone an applicant knows, who is living in Norway, can give a financial guarantee.
  • Must not be subject to a prohibition against entry to Norway or Schengen.
  • If applicants have been in the Schengen area in the last 90 days, they must check when it is possible for them to re-enter, and how many days they can stay in Schengen.
  • If under the age of 18, both the parents, or other persons responsible for the applicant, must sign applicant's application.
  • If visiting someone in Norway, must have an invitation from the person who is being visited.
  • Must normally have booked accommodation for the first days of the stay in Norway.
  • The reason for the travel to Norway cannot be to receive medical treatment. If that is the case, applicants have to apply for a residence permit for medical treatment.
