The Embassy is open from Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 – 4:30 pm. Outside the office hours you can contact the Embassy by calling the emergency phone number. The Embassy in Kabul does not issue visas, therefore if you wish to apply for one you will have to contact the Norwegian Embassy in Islamabad. The Consular Section is open from Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 3:30 pm:

Please note, that at the moment the Embassy accepts applications only for machine-readable passports, and the applicant must go to the Embassy in person when applying for one. The application form for a new passport can be downloaded at the official Embassy website. The whole process might take up to 5 weeks, as the passports are printed in Norway. In cases of emergency, the Foreign Service mission in the Embassy may issue a hand written passport. Such passport will have a sort validity and will have to be surrendered once the journey is finished.
