The Russian Embassy in Canada provides a wide range of consular services including various visas, pension issues, civil registration, legalization of documents, and deals with many other standard issues.

Russian citizens residing temporarily or permanently residing in Canada on relevant consular matters should contact the consular office of the Russian Federation, in the consular district where they reside or are temporarily. 

The Consular representations of the Russian Federation in Canada receive visa application forms only filled and printed out using the website of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation – http://visa.kdmid.ru.

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Canada do not process visa applications received by mail. Please note that if you send your application by mail against standard procedure it will be returned to you back unprocessed.

Effective from July 15, 2013, the Consular Division of the Embassy of the Russian Federation receive only visa applications submitted via the "Invisa Logistics Services Canada Ltd" located at:

or at the Consular Division of the Embassy of the Russian Federation only if the visa application submitted in person.

Documents submitted for legalization should contain the following details (number, date, signature, seal). Documents must be committed without erasures and subscriptions, they should not contain corrections. The document, which contains more than one page, must be stapled, numbered and sealed. Photocopy of document(s) has to be attached. For unrestricted use in Russia, legalized documents made in a foreign language must be translated into Russian. Certification of the translation of the document can be certified by the Consular Division. The fee is 25 CAD per page for the Russian citizens and 55 CAD per page for citizens of other countries. If the applicant prefers to receive their documents back by mail, he/she should enclose a prepaid envelope with address to reply. Processing time for the legalization is 3 business days.
