Effective December 24, 2012 all Russian Consulates in Finland and Russia Visa Application Centers will require that all visa Application Forms submitted by the clients be completed, printed and signed by the applicants using the special website https://visa.kdmid.ru.From mentioned date visa application forms taken from any other sources as well as hand-written forms or forms containing hand-written corrections will not be accepted for processing.
Please note that visa processing starts only after you have submitted to the Consular section all the documents required. The Embassy does not accept any documents, which have been sent to the Consular section by fax or e-mail. This mail should contain return address envelope for registered delivery and confirmation of payment of the fee for processing a visa application to the bank account of the Russian Visa Application Service Centre in Finland. Mail processing starts the next working day after the mail delivery to the Consular Section.
Please note that tourist visa can be issued for no longer than 30 days. When entering Russia with a tourist visa, you may be asked at the border checkpoint to present also your tourist confirmation, the voucher and a return ticket with a fixed date of departure from Russia. You also may have to prove that you have sufficient funds for your travel.
Citizens of the Russian Federation outside the Russia shall have the right to register with the diplomatic mission or consular post.
Foreign registration of Russian citizens is purely voluntary and is carried out at the request of the person, regardless of the purpose and duration of stay.
Theft or loss of a valid passport must be reported to the police and a police report should be presented when applying for a new passport. Otherwise a passport is applied as normally. When reporting a lost passport to the police it should be noted that a report made by telephone and a registration number given on the basis of that might not be adequate proof to the insurance company. The report can be made in person at a police station so that a report of the crime is available in writing.
