Citizens of the Russian Federation outside the Russia shall have the right to register with the diplomatic mission or consular post.

Foreign registration of Russian citizens is purely voluntary and is carried out at the request of the person, regardless of the purpose and duration of stay.

Theft or loss of a valid passport must be reported to the police and a police report should be presented when applying for a new passport. Otherwise a passport is applied as normally. When reporting a lost passport to the police it should be noted that a report made by telephone and a registration number given  on the basis of that might not be adequate proof to the insurance company. The report can be made in person at a police station so that a report of the crime is available in writing.

NOTE: Payment is made by postal money order (Postal Money Order), bank drafts or checks companies (corporate checks).

The Embassy is closed on the following holidays:

• 23 February - Defender of Motherland Day;
• 8 March - International Women's Day;
• 1 May - Spring and Labor Day;

• 12 June - Day of Russia;
• 4 November - Day of the National Unity
