Services provided by the Consular Section:

In case of lost Russian passport, Consular Section of the Embassy of the Russian Federation can issue a return certificate (temporary document) to return to the Russian Federation. Also, a police report about the lost passport must be obtained.

Visitors from most countries will need a visa. The Consular Section of the Russian Embassy issues different categories of visas to Russia based upon the purpose of the trip and the duration of stay in Russia.

Requirements for a tourist visa:

  • Current passport which should be valid for a minimum of six months after visa's expiration date and has at least 2 blank pages which do not need to be consecutive.
  • Visa application form.
  • One recent passport sizephoto glued to the indicated space on the application form.
  • A 'Tourist voucher' and a 'Tourist confirmation' document stamped and signed by authorized person. They can be obtained through the hotel or an approved travel agent who deals with trips to Russia, and should be valid for the entire duration of the trip. The stamp and all details should be clearly readable.
  • Tourists on board large cruise Ships have the right to stay in the Russian Federation without a visa for up to 72 hours. They have the right to leave the ship and come back on board the ship only as part of an organized tourist group. Tourists who wish to leave the ship on their own or in a group of less than 5 tourists must have a visa.
  • Applicants going for auto tourism should enclose the Registration Certificate of the vehicle they intend to travel by and covering letter mentioning the details of the journey, itinerary and names of the accompanying travelers.
  • Medical insurance at least 30 000 € in coverage valid for Russia.

Citizens of the EU countries need to provide an insurance policy for the whole period of stay in Russia while applying for a visa. Citizens of non-EU countries as well as the UK, should also provide proof of legality of their stay in Poland (Resident card valid more than 90 days) when applying for a visa.

Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice. Along with the visa fees there is a service charge of the 25€ applicable per visa application if an applicant submits his/her applications to the Russian Visa Centre. Visa processing fee is not refundable.

All consular fees should be paid in Polish zloty.
