Russian Embassy in Romania represents the interests of the Russian Federation, develops relations between Romania and Russia in all sectors and protects the rights and interests of Russian citizens in Romania.

Consular services provided by the Embassy:

  • Registration of Russians abroad;
  • Assistance in cases of emergency;
  • Issuance of requested documents;
  • Issuance of criminal records;
  • Pensions and social issues;
  • Civil status acts;
  • Russian citizenship matters;
  • Issuance of passports;
  • Issuance of visas.

In case of lost Russian passport abroad, Consular Section of the Russian Embassy can issue a return certificate (temporary document) to return to the Russian Federation. Also, a police report about the lost passport must be obtained from the local police.

Citizens of Romania require visas to visit Russia for short stays for tourism purposes. Maximum stay in Russia on a tourist visa is 30 days.

Requirements for a tourist visa to enter Russia:

  • Acknowledgment of the Russian tourism organization conducting the tour;
  • Passport valid for 6 months and with 2 blank pages;
  • Visa application form completed online, printed and signed;
  • 3,5 x 4,5 cm color photo;
  • Health insurance policy valid in the territory of the Russian Federation
  • Permit of continuous stay in Romania for more than 90 days;
  • Permanent residence permit in Romania.

All fees for consular services must be paid in US dollars by bank transfer. Payments for visas can be made directly to the Visa Application Centre.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays.
