The Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia is based in Durbanville, Cape Town and its consular district covers the entire Republic of South Africa.
The Honorary Consulate General is entrusted with the tasks of:
- promoting all-round cooperation between Slovenia and South Africa
- expanding links between Slovenia and South Africa in the fields of commerce, tourism, culture, science, education and sport
- taking care of public relations and normal consular tasks
- providing assistance to Slovenian citizens in South Africa
One requires a Schengen visa in order to visit the Republic of Slovenia, unless you are a European Union (EU) passport holder. The Slovenian Consulate in South Africa does not deal with visa applications. This function is taken care of on behalf of the Slovenian government by the Consular Section of the German diplomatic missions in South Africa as far as South African residents are concerned. The German missions, in turn, provide the service via Visalink in Cape Town, Centurion and Port Elizabeth.
