South Korean Embassy's main objectives are to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two nations, to cooperate in political. economic and cultural matters, and to provide consular services to South Korean citizens in Portugal.

The Embassy provides these consular services:

  • Issues visas;
  • Issues passports;
  • Registers Korean citizens abroad;
  • Deals with military service matters;
  • Deals with civil status affairs;
  • Provides notarials services;
  • Issues criminal record certificates;
  • Deals with nationality matters;
  • Deals with overseas voting matters.

In case of lost passport, South Korean citizens should report the loss to the local police and obtain a police notification. This notification will be needed when applying for an emergency passport at the South Korean Embassy.

The Visa Waiver program between the governments of the Republic of Korea and Portugal allows holders of Portuguese passports to visit South Korea for tourism or unpaid  activities such as meetings, workshops, conferences for stays of up to 60 days. If a Portuguese citizens intend to stay in South Korea for longer than 60 days, they must apply for a visa prior to their entry into Korea.

The Embassy is closed on Korean and Portuguese public holidays.
